After serving his country, Army veteran Daniel Blevins returned home carrying wounds most people never see.

From a Humvee rollover that caused lasting spinal damage to chronic conditions that affect his daily life, Blevins knows firsthand how military service can take a lifelong toll. Yet recent media coverage has suggested veterans are “gaming” the VA disability system—something he says couldn’t be further from the truth.

Blevins spoke out because he’s seen how stigma and misinformation can stop veterans from seeking the care they earned—and the consequences can be deadly.
